For the Cricketers — Updates with love from CricHeroes

One of the things that make CricHeroes popular amongst grassroots cricketers is the speed with which we keep updating the app. Our shipping cycle is mostly one month long and that means we have a new version every month to make lives of cricketers, tournament organisers and all the other stakeholders more delightful.

For this, we have to give a lot of credit to our passionate users as they are the ones who keep pushing us to do better. They are not afraid to speak their mind if something is not working at the same time we have their immense support in making cricket better.

So here are some of the features we have launched recently after listening intently to cricketers.

Support for Indian Languages

India is a home to about 121 languages and CricHeroes has presence in all India states. Not all of our users are comfortable with English as their first language. So we made some of the features available in Hindi but soon that was not enough. Now, major features of the CricHeroes app, like starting a match, adding a tournament, creating a team, are available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Urdu and Kannada. More power to our languages and more power to cricket!

Player Stats

A lot of our users play multiple types of matches. They play different formats like T20, T10, Test Match, Box Cricket and also play on different types of balls such as Leather and Tennis ball. Now so far, we were showing all the stats in a consolidated view, which was not reflecting the true nature of that cricketer. Someone can be a really good bowler in a T20 format but he can have a far higher economy in Box Cricket format. Also Leather and Tennis ball matches are completely different games. So to make things right, we decided to overhaul the Player Stats screen.

Note that players have a different stats for Leather and Tennis ball plus all the formats are shown separately by default. What do you think?

Auto Schedule Generator

Earlier, tournament organisers had to schedule their tournament matches manually one by one and that was extremely tedious and time-consuming. It was a real pain and our users were not afraid to express their frustration. This needed to change and that is where the auto schedule generator comes in. No matter how many teams are there in your tournament and no matter what format (league matches, knockout, etc), the organiser will be able to generate his entire schedule in one step using the brand new auto schedule generator!

Pair Cricket Scoring

This is a really interesting format of Cricket if you have not heard about it so far. Generally played in a Box Cricket settings, there are pre-define number of pairs in a team, for e.g. 4 or 5 pairs of batters. One pair of batters will compete for x number of overs and once they are done with their overs, the next set of batters start their partnership. If you get out instead of going back to dug out, you continue the play but your team gets penalty runs for wicket. This means everyone gets equal chance to play. Really fun!
