Introducing the Women’s Leaderboard: Celebrating women in cricket

Cricket is growing everywhere. From streets and academies to box cricket arenas and local tournaments, the game is reaching more players every day.

With this growth, more women are stepping onto the field and making their mark.

At CricHeroes, we believe every performance deserves recognition. To support a more inclusive cricket ecosystem, we are introducing the Women’s Leaderboard, a dedicated space that celebrates the performances of women cricketers on the platform.

Why the Women’s Leaderboard?

Until now, our leaderboards showed the overall top performers across batting, bowling, and fielding.

Since most players on the platform are men, these rankings have largely been dominated by male players.

This created a gap.

Many women players are performing consistently in their matches, but their achievements often do not appear in the overall rankings.

The Women’s Leaderboard is our effort to solve this and give women cricketers the recognition they deserve.

What is the Women’s Leaderboard?

The Women’s Leaderboard highlights top-performing women players across different formats of grassroots cricket, including:

• Leather ball cricket
• Tennis ball cricket
• Box cricket
  

Players will be ranked based on their performances in:

• Batting
• Bowling
• Fielding
  

The leaderboard follows the same performance-based ranking logic as our existing leaderboards, but it highlights players who have updated their gender as Female in their profiles.

How players can appear on the Women’s Leaderboard

To appear on the Women’s Leaderboard, players need to:

• Update their gender as Female in their profile
• Upload a profile photo
• Play 10 or more matches on CricHeroes
  

On the leaderboard page, players who have not updated their gender or profile photo will see a small reminder. This helps them complete their profiles and become eligible for the leaderboard.

A step towards more recognition

Recognition motivates players.

When players see their performances acknowledged, they feel encouraged to keep improving and playing more matches.

With the Women’s Leaderboard, we hope to:
